What Is Recruitment?
Recruitment (also known as Rush) is a period where our organizations intake potential new members. Recruitment occurs during the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters, but not all organizations recruit during both periods. Recruitment gives potential new members an opportunity to meet the members of each sorority/fraternity to see it the organization is something they would like to be a part of. Conversely, it also gives the opportunity for sorority/fraternity members to get to know prospective new members. Sororities/Fraternities can extend "bids" or invitations to prospective members that once accepted, grant the potential member new member status within that organization. Typically the IGC Rush Week starts the third week of the semester.
