Officer Descriptions

President 

The President shall serve as the chief executive officer of the organization, shall preside at all meetings of the organization and shall prepare the agenda for meetings.  The President has the authority to call for emergency meetings. The President shall be the official spokesperson of the organization, representing the policies, views, and opinions of the organization in its relations with the campus and community at large.  The President shall appoint all committees and committee chairs. The President shall be an ex officio member of all committees. The President shall have such further powers and duties as may be prescribed by the organization. The President have the authority to break the tie but not create in the council meetings. To serve as the IGC representative at all applicable University meetings; to act as a communication liaison between IGC and the University; shall inform the council of university policies affecting the chapters; to act as a liaison between the IGC and other Greek Councils.

Vice President

The Vice President shall preside at organization meetings in the absence of the President.  The Vice President shall perform all legal duties assigned by the President.  The Vice President shall assume the office of President if the office becomes vacant. Serves as the chair of the Judicial Committee and the Expansion Committee.

Secretary

The Secretary shall take minutes at all meetings of the organization, keep these on file, and submit required copies to all organization members.  The Secretary shall be responsible for all organization correspondence and shall keep copies thereof on file. The Secretary shall maintain membership records and roster for the organization. The Secretary shall oversee election Nominee applications and procedures. The secretary shall call roll, distribute the minutes, determine quorums at the direction of the President, determine absences, and carry on all correspondence of the IGC; shall be responsible for obtaining written reports of all executive officers and committees; shall take minutes at all formal judicial hearings. They shall also be responsible for booking rooms in the University Student Union for meetings and events.

Treasurer


The Treasurer shall handle all financial affairs and budgeting of the organization, maintain all necessary accounting records, and prepare monthly financial reports for the membership.  These records shall be maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.  The Treasurer shall collect and deposit all dues and fees.  The Treasurer shall maintain an A.S. Agency Account in the organization’s name, requiring signatures of the Treasurer and/or President and University Advisor for authorized disbursements. The Treasurer shall assess fines as requested to present a proposed yearly budget by the last meeting of the Fall Semester which shall be approved by a majority vote of the Council; to coordinate a minimum of one major fundraising event per semester.  Checks must be co-signed by two of the following: President, Vice President, or Treasurer.  The Treasurer shall submit the books to the IGC Executive Board for an audit at the conclusion of their term. Treasurer shall have budget prepared for Associated Student Annual funding and will be responsible to attend budget hearing. They shall also present a balance at every meeting.

Recruitment Director 

To plan, coordinate, and execute, in cooperation with the Council; all rush activities to be conducted by IGC which will be contained within the IGC Rush Program to organize and submit, for approval to the Treasurer, a master plan and budget for the IGC Rush Program to be approved by the Council; to conduct and regulate all rush activities and perform all other duties pertaining to rush; to compile and publish a master rush calendar, and IGC Rush Program which will contain the following items: individual chapter information, IGC Rush kickoff date, and individual chapter rush calendars; and to serve as editor of the IGC Rush Program. The Recruitment Director serves as the Co-Vice-Chair of the Programming Committee.

Programming Director 

To plan, coordinate and execute all philanthropic, social and community service activities, to make an activities calendar prior to each semester. Shall collect events from all chapters during Summer and Winter break and create a master calendar. Such calendar will be made public and posted in the Matador Involvement Center and electronic database. Shall have IGC planned events prior to the semester start. To publicize IGC sponsored events; to disseminate information about the IGC and chapter community service efforts to local and campus media; and to organize other public relations activities. Shall update IGC information on the Matador Involvement Center Board. The Programming Director serves as the chair of the Programming Committee.

Academic Director 

To organize meetings of chapter academic chairs; to monitor IGC academic requirements (as specified in Article III, section 6). The Academic Director shall explore new avenues and incentives to amplify academic performance throughout the Greek system. The Academic Director is expected to conduct three academic workshops per semester. The Academic Director is to recognize chapters and chapter members who have made academic accomplishments. The Academic Director must have a minimum 2.8 GPA.


Public Relations Director
 

Shall work with the Programming Director and Recruitment Director in publicizing IGC sponsored events; shall disseminate information about the IGC and chapter community service efforts to local and campus media; and to organize other public relations activities. The Public Relations Director will be in charge of all IGC social media platforms, and the IGC website. The Public Relations Director is expected to create all promotional materials for the IGC.
